Gawler Three Day Event was a prestigious, long-running equestrian competition in South Australia,
it was replaced in 1997 by the Adelaide International Horse Trials (now the Australian International 3DE). It was a key, high-level event attracting international riders.
A premier eventing competition in Australia, with 1986 hosting the World Three Day Equestrian Event.
The event ran for many years before moving to Adelaide in 1997.
The course was renowned for being tough and hilly, featuring challenging cross-country and steeplechase phases and Dressage events held at the Gawler Racetrack , Dead Mans Pass and part of the Riggs property at Bentley farm.
