Unfortunately a large number of the stone walls, that are still in existence, are in a very poor state of repair. The cost of repairing them correctly is often beyond the means of the property owners. The development of Phoenix Plaza, did however result in the extensive repair of the stone wall on the northern side of the property on Calton Road.
In this 2016 there has been a wonderful outcome of remediation of the wall at 25 High Street.
