Marie Davis was Gawler (joint) Citizen of the Year 2013. Marie is (or has been) a volunteer for the Gawler Centrals Football Club, Wasley's Netball Club, Gawler's Relay for Life Committee, The Zion Kindergarten Governing Committee, The Gawler Primary School Governing Council and was awarded a life-long membership of the Gawler Kindergym.
She has lived in Gawler since she was 13 and is great great granddaughter of Gawler's early citizens William and Mary Broderick, via their son Gawler saddler Nicholas Broderick and his wife nee Miriam Watts (Miriam ran Mrs Broderick's Tuckshop from her home at 41 Finniss Street).
