Reverend Walter Jones was (1847-1907) a long standing minister at the Gawler Congregational Church, serving for about 20 years (1882-1901) before relocating to Queensland in about 1902 (he died there in 1907).


A stained glass window was unveiled as a memorial to him in the Congregational Church in 1908 (the window was relocated to Tod Street Methodist Church after the union of the churches).
