In the original Gawler Town Plan – Warren Street was named High Street, but the name was likely changed as it was separated from the main part of High Street by the Pioneer Park Cemetery.

Warren Street contains houses listed in the Town of Gawler Local and Contributory Heritage list.

There are also heritage villas at:

3 Warren Street

  • 1935-1950 residence of the Richards family - Frederick James Richards, Gawler Town Clerk, his wife nee Amy Felicia Inglis and their three children.[1] The property, consisting of portions of allotments 252 & 253, was held in Amy's name.[1] The house is clearly recognisable in photos of the Richards family on the veranda (see Warren Street album). In 1940 part of the portion of allotment 253 was transferred to Alexander Frank Stewart, owner of neighbouring property 5 Warren Street.[2]

5 Warren Street

  • From at least 1925 Alexander Frank Stewart, blacksmith, owned 5 Warren Street (consisting of portions of allotments 253, 254 & 255).[3] The property was transferred to Horace Clayton Satchell in 1953.[3]
