Taken from the Gawler Anglican Parish History 1846-1912:
In 1895 Messrs. L.S.Burton and Geo. Warren met with a tragic death as the result of a railway accident. They had both rendered splendid service to the Church.....Mr. Geo. Warren served on many committees and his profession of Surveyor enabled him to be of most valuable assistance. Various surveys of the Church property had to be made from time to time, and his willing services were always at the command of the Vestry.
George Warren replaced Frederick Foote Turner as a trustee and executor of the estate of James Fotheringham.
