Justin Dallas Kurzel was born 3 August 1974 in Gawler, South Australia.
In 1999, Kurzel was awarded a Mike Walsh Fellowship. His debut movie titled “Blue Tongue, released in 2004. Kurzel’s feature debut, ‘Snowtown” was highly regarded. Kurzel won the AACTA Award for Best Direction for “Snowtown” in 2011.
Kurzel has since gone on to direct a film adaption of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” (2015), and video game adaption “Assassin’s Creed” (2016) An upcoming feature directed by Kurzel; “True History of the Kelly Gang” is scheduled for release in 2020.
Justin Kurzel is married to actress Essie Davis.
