Kyan Burns

Kyan Burns Music HartBurn Acoustic Duo

"I was in McLeods Daughters as, "Mum with Pram!"" Born and raised in Gawler, Kyan has recently ventured out alone and released her FIRST-ever single! "So I'm Telling You" was released on June 25th on all the major platforms (Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer)

"A good friend of mine, Ravie, approached me about working together to record some original songs... It was a great opportunity... I fell in love with the songs, so we've recorded one of them now... I'm so passionate about this song!" As well as releasing on all the major platforms there is also a video and you may also be able to pick up some kind of physical release at gigs.

"My mum and all my uncles went to Gawler High... we've been here a long time. Gawler High was an experience 🙂 " A 3rd generation Gawlerian (Gawlerite?) Kyan went to Gawler East Primary School before moving on to Gawler High. She did a bit of time at Foodland (Now Drakes) and even tried some labour hire jobs at places like Amcor, Safcol, and Woodbridge Henderson before landing at Coles - Gawler Central.

"....I'd been working in factories for so long, I just wanted to wake up and put make-up on in the morning!" She dabbled a bit with acting, joining an agency and landing a few roles as an extra on McLeods Daughters and an ABC show called Rain Shadow that was filmed in the Adelaide Hills.

"....it wasn't a talking role, it was a crying role 🙂 " Whilst she doesn't really remember it, her friends told her that she was always singing. Her parents took her and her sister to a friend's studio setup where they mucked about recording a song. They were really young but everyone was pretty impressed!

"I always had it in my head that I could sort of sing.... it turns out I can! Thank god people weren't just lying to me 🙂 " When she was 15 a chance meeting with a singing teacher during her time at Foodland started the ball rolling when she realised she was a natural singer. This brought on lots more singing and auditioning before ending up hosting Karaoke at The Southern for a few years. One day she spotted an advertisement for a band called Care Factor and joined them.

"...Since then its all just been full go - nonstop" She joined another band called Over Take before joining with her friend Tristan to become the duo HartBurn Acoustic Duo. They play all over Adelaide and always love coming back to Gawler and the Prince Albert Hotel Gawler You'll also catch them around town with the full band lineup Chronic HartBurn. With so many friends and family here, "It always feels like coming home...I love playing gigs here"
