Row of two-storey stores, initially the upper storeys would have been residences for the storekeepers. This building is known as the Wilcox Building and may have been known as "Central Stores" at some stage.
On 14 July 1880 a suspicious fire took place in the store sheds at the rear of premises of Messrs J & J Wilcox, Drapers, Grocers & c..[2]

- National Bank of Australasia c1878 (photo + leased as a 'Bank' from 1876-1880, not yet determined if it was this bank the entire time)
- P J Broderick ran his 'Grocer Ironmonger & Co' business from this "Central Stores" shop from 1888-1891 (or 1893), he sold general goods and was also licensed to sell wine.[3] [see Broderick Patrick Joseph]
- H King Fruiterer, Greengrocer & c. had taken over this "Central Stores" site by May 1892, relocating from other premises.[4] [there is overlap from when King started advertising this as his location and when Broderick sold up remaining stock in 1893]

- Charles Cross Chemist - leased store from 1878-1891, when he disposed of his store to James Rowe, so that he could "devote his whole attention to the manufacture and distribution of medicines."[5]
