Laurence Austin Farmborough Payne, was born on 1904, son of Frederich Payne and nephew of [[Payne William Gilbert|William Gilbert Payne]]. He married Dulcie Beryl Cork, daughter of Leslie Cork in 1929 (sister of [[Cork Frank Elliot|Frank Elliot Cork]]). He was a chemist/pharmacist, and traded as "Austin Payne" in the 1930s and "L A F Payne MPS" "Prescription Specialist" in the 1960s (the MPS indicates Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia).
