William Lutton and his wife Jane [née Brown] from Newry, came out on the Reliance in 1851. Their daughter Sarah was born at sea. They probably went straight to Gawler, as they knew the Reids of Clonlea. William went off to the goldfields but died on his return [I would suspect of TB]. It has been suggested that he was buried in Pioneer Park, but there is no record of his burial in any of the 3 Gawler cemeteries. His son George William was buried in Pioneer Park in 1870 at the age of 16. [He was the last interment within the Gawler Town Cemetery]. He is listed under the surname of Sutton. William's daughter Sarah married a Mr Lindow. Sarah died at age 26 on July 19th 1878 after childbirth and the eleven week old baby, William Lindow, died August 20th 1878. They are buried at St Georges Anglican Cemetery on Cheek Avenue in plot S25.
Thomas W Lindow was buried in adjoining plot S26 on 1st August 1900 at age 49.
