James Mold was Councillor for North Ward in 1861 - 1866.

He was accidentally killed in December 1869, when he attempted to stop a team of runaway horses, the horses belonged to George Vosper Bassett and had been left waiting outside the Albion Mill.[1] An inquest into his death was held.[2]
