Christopher Cox Jnr was Councillor for East Ward in 1920 - 1929 and North Ward in 1931 - 1932.

His son RAAF Flying Officer Christopher Frederick Cox, died in a flying battle on 23 July 1943, Crete, Greece, whilst serving in WWII.


He died in June 1946, leaving behind widow Frances Letitia. "Husband of Mrs. F. L. Cox, of 26 High Street, Gawler, Mr. Christopher John Cox, passed away in Gawler on Sunday. Mr. Cox was well-known in Gawler as member of a painting and decorating firm of former years." (Bunyip 14 Jun 1946)
