Pastor at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gawler 1933 – 1952
Pastor Presser was born at Wal Wal in Victoria and trained as a Lutheran pastor in Adelaide. He was called to Gawler, and the other three congregations, from the South Kilkerran congregation in 1933. While Pastor Presser served the Zion Lutheran Church, the 25 th anniversary of the church building was celebrated with the installation of the stained - glass window in the chancel.
The Lutheran School closed in 1941. In 1942 the Zion congregation at Gawler separated from the other three congregations and formed its own parish. Paster Presser resigned for health reasons in 1952 and died in 1973. His widow died later, ages 104 years.
