Peter was born in 1968 in Adelaide to Dennis and Jo Ryan. He lived in Athelstone and went to Athelstone Primary School before moving to Bundaberg in Queensland for a few years and the start of High School.
Settling back in Magill he attended Norwood High School leaving Year 12 in 1985.
He attended Adelaide University for a degree in Law and Economics and graduated in 1990.
Peter moved to Gawler and commenced work in 1991 with Rudall & Rudall and soon settled into life in Gawler.
He joined the Gawler Town Band in 1992, and is still involved with the band today, playing Tenor Saxophone, having held every committee position on the band over the years. He met his wife Nicki in the Gawler Band in 1994. They were married in 1998 and have two children Joshua (born in 2000) and Matthew (born in 2004) who have both attended Trinity College. The whole family now active members of the Gawler Town Band. As a representative of the Gawler Band his has assisted in the organisation of the Gawler Carols event every year since its move to Pioneer Park.
Peter’s other community involvement, has been a board member and Chairperson of the Gawler Health Service He was instrumental in commencing the Gawler Health Foundation Inc, and later became a board member and Chairperson of the Foundation.
A past member of the Gawler Tourism and Trade Authority, he was one of the founding members of the Gawler Business Development Board.
With both of his children being keen swimmers for STARplex Swimming Club, he has developed an interest in becoming a Swimming Referee. He has officiated at Swimming meets throughout South Australia as well as in Darwin, Melbourne and Hobart.
He continues as a partner at Rudall & Rudall Lawyers advising in Commercial and Business Advice, Property Transactions, wills and estate administration and Family Law.
