John Leonard Curnow, known as Jack, was born in Gawler in 1917, son of 'Wilf' John Wilfred Curnow.
He was Councillor for Central Ward from 1956 until 1968.
In 1964 he was one of the riders in the Elephant race down Murray street.
Jack died in Gawler in 1974.
