Pastor at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gawler, 1909 – 1915

Pastor Janzow was the first pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church and served the congregation from Adelaide, assisted by Professor M. T. Winkler.

While Pastor Janzow was its Pastor, the Zion Lutheran Church adopted its first Constitution and it also purchased the “Little Glory Church” for its place of worship. There were 83 members. His call in Gawler ceased when the Zion Lutheran Church formed a Parish with three other Lutheran congregations, and a Pastor was called to serve all four.

For more information about these Pastors and photographs of them, refer to the booklet “Centenary of Zion Lutheran Church Gawler SA - 26 TH July 1908 – 26 th July 2008 – Celebrating 100 years of ministry and mission” and a copy is on our website under “Zion Lutheran Church”.

We thank Robert [Bob] Fielke for this information.
