Founded in England in the mid-1700s, The Ancient Order of Foresters was a non-profit organisation that provided financial and social benefits to its members in times of need. The South Australian chapter was founded in 1847. The Ancient Order of Foresters met at the Oddfellows Hall, which was situated at 63 Murray Street.
