JAMES ATKINSON Born at Gawler in 1852, and was a son of the late Mr. james Atkinson, of Yacka, who came to Australia from Ireland in 1851. Mr. Atkinson had lived in the George-town district for 51 years, and represented the Council for 20 years out of the 30 that the Council has operated. He retired for five years on account of ill-health, but has been re-elected, and for the past two years has held office. Mr. Atkinson has been a member of the church and a local preacher for 50 years.
