Leanne has had a strong Gawler community upbringing with her maternal grandparents and parents having several strong and long-term involvements within the Gawler community which has carried into her life.
Leanne has been a member of the St Georges Netball Club since 1979 being a player, umpire, coach Treasurer and Secretary and expectedly is a Life Member of the club. In 2003 Leanne was the first female to be inducted into the Rotary Club of Gawler, who to that point had remained a male-only club having chartered the Rotary Club of Gawler Light as the mixed-gender club several years earlier. This induction was well-received due to previous club involvement with her maternal grandfather, Harrold Marsh, being a Past President and a member for several years until his death, and her father Robert (Bob) Clinch being a long-term member also until his death in 2018.
Leanne commenced her personal involvement in the Rotary Club of Gawler being an entrant in the Gawler Chickorama in 1989 sponsored by the Apex Club of Gawler.
In 2008 Leanne was inducted as the clubs first female President and has remained an active member of the club.
