Derek Chudleigh Sutch was born in 1929 in England. In 1953 he married Cora Koithan:[1]

Couple Will Leave For NZ After Wedding Today

Cora Koithan and Derek Chudleigh Sutch, who will marry in Holy Trinity Church at 7 p.m. today will sail for Sydney tomorrow enroute for New Zealand.

After six months in New Zealand they will visit the bridegroom's family in England. Derek is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Chudleigh Sutch off Richmond Surrey. Cora is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Koithan who will come from Tanunda for the ceremony. The reception will be held at the Mile End home of -their son Clifford who will be best man.

A gown of tiered white Brussels lace over satin will be worn by the bride. A coronet of orange, blossom will hold her tulle veil. She will also wear a 150-year-old ivory and gold cameo necklet and her flowers will be red roses.

Matron of honor Mrs Doug Johnston will wear ice blue lace and net over taffeta and a circlet of red roses in her hair will match her posy. The bride's niece Susan Koithan will be flower girl. dressed in blue sprigged organdie, and Terry Hunt will be page boy. Terry will wear a suit of white satin.

Derek Chudleigh Sutch and Cora Meta Sutch lived at 16 Coombe Street, Gawler.

In 1977 Derek started the Gawler Christmas Tree Lighting.
