Many Gawler residents, particularly those who attended Gawler High School, remember the old storage shed that sat on the southern end of the Gawler Racecourse. On facebook page "I'm From Gawler", users have written the following comments about their memories of the old shed.

"It was directly opposite the last building of the High School before the mega school was built. Use to stare at it out of the classroom window lol. And park in its shadow"

"It was in the vacant lot behind Aldi. I worked for the building company who built the new school next to high school and the shed was still there then"

"Directly in front of the high school gate. They used to park the school busses next to it"
