Ivy Doris Neumann was born on 28 August 1925 at Mrs Green's Nursing Home in Gawler, daughter of 'Bill' Wilhelm Albert Neumann & nee Olga Hilda Kuhlmann (the family alternately spelled their surname in the English way 'Newmann' or 'Newman', since the time Ivy's father served in WWI).
In 1944, Ivy's mother Olga Hilda Newman purchased the family residence at 23 Main Street, Willaston.[2]
Ivy married 'Bob' Robert Thomas Lally on 24 January 1948 at the North Gawler Lutheran Church. They built their home at 21 Drury Street, Willaston, in the 1950s on a block of land subdivided off the back of her mother's property at 23 Main Street, Willaston.[1][3]
She spent her later years at the Hope Valley Lutheran Retirement Village, and passed away on 1 February 2006, aged 80.
Ivy's niece, via her sister Shirley Lena O'Dea (nee Shirley Lena Newman), is Gawler born, Olympic athlete Lisa Martin-Ondieki (nee Lisa O'Dea). [see family details below]
