Reg Swanborough [Swanee to many] has enjoyed living in Gawler for almost 20 years; happily to robustly engage with many in the community each day. He says that at his age he loves to make the most of his life in the time available to him.

At the age of 92, Reg was the oldest walking participant in the 2019 Adelaide Anzac Day march representing WW2 Navy. Other older WW2 people attended within wheelchairs and by other means of transport but Swanee was proud to be able to walk the distance.

Reg has personally compiled his life history which incorporates much of his WW2 experiences and, by word of mouth, he has sold 165 of his books; an achievement he is proud of. He now feels that others might enjoy reading of his encounters and has given Gawler History Team Inc. his permission to incorporate his memoirs within gawlerhistory.com

We thank Swanee for this permission and trust that his stories will be marvelled and enjoyed by many in the future.
