According to researcher Bev Burke, this Lot - Pt204 Murray Street, was built on in 1859 as a branch of the S.A. Banking Co. which had an outlet in Gawler in 1857. After it was then purchased by the Union Bank and then Rudall and Rudall [Gawler Solicitors] in 1928; when the Union Bank purchased the former Bank of Adelaide premises. Also, Pt Lot 203 was built in 1911 and comprised a banking chamber, strong room, clerk's room and Manager's residence.
