Jenifer was born in Uraidla in the Adelaide Hills on September 5th 1938, daughter of Lionel Badenoch and Mary (nee Morton), and lived during her early years at Carey Gully, and attended Lenswood Primary School.

The family moved to the South East, initially living at Nangwarry before moving to Tarpeena where Lionel established a market garden.

Primary schooling continued at Tarpeena before she needed to go to secondary classes which she did at Mt Gambier High School. Following her matriculation she worked for a number of years at McElroy’s Store in Tarpeena.

Jenny was a keen netballer and also was a drummer in the Tarpeena Highland Band, and in 1956 while at the Mt Gambier Show ball, she met her future husband Graham Tucker.

They married in 1958 and moved to Gladstone where Alex was born in December 1959 and Donald in June 1961. Later that year they moved to Modbury and in 1964 Susan was born followed by Jacquie in 1966.

When all four were in school, Jenny got a job with Salisbury Florist which she really enjoyed, both the job and the fellowship of a great team.

In 1990 they built a new house at Gawler, a town Jenny had always admired when travelling from Gladstone to Adelaide, and Jenny soon became involved with the Gawler Tourist Assn, later to become the Gawler Tourist Information centre, and also joined the Gawler Golf Club. She made many great friends at both places and through them was able to fit in with the locals much easier than she ever expected.

She enjoyed her role as President of the Ladies golf Club for two years.

On August 21st 2010, four days after a massive heart attack, Jenny passed away peacefully in Lyell McEwin Hospital.

She was buried, attended by her family and many friends in the Summertown Cemetery, surrounded by many of her forebears who predeceased her.
