Henry Howard Baker c1915

Henry Howard Baker, was born in Gawler in 1884, son of William Henry Baker and Emma Selina nee Pinson, and brother of Hilda Maud Baker. He was educated at Gawler Public School and Gawler South Grammar School, and worked as a fitter.

He enlisted in the AIF 12 Aug 1915 in Adelaide (Service No. 8567) and served with the 6th Field Unit as a Wheeler Sergeant.

Henry was killed in action in Belgium. He is buried at Ypres (Ieper), Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders (West-Vlaanderen), 'The Huts Cemetery' Belgium, 14 B 6.

Henry Baker is also memorialised at the: Adelaide National War Memorial, Australian War Memorial, Gawler WWI Roll of Honour and on a commemorative paver in the Remembrance Garden in Pioneer Park (see ANZACs and other WWI Personnel).
