This building was a grain store for Duffield's adjacent second Victoria Flour Mill.

On 18 January 1924, severe storm winds battered Gawler South and this was one of the many buildings impacted, it lost its roof and ceiling. Read the full description from the Bunyip (25 Jan 1924) and see the photos published in The Chronicle (26 Jan 1924).

On the 24 April 1927, the adjacent mill building, which had been vacant for some time burnt down.[2] The Adelaide Chronicle (30 Apr 1927) report of the fire, mentions that the premises of Hugo Fischer Ltd were nearby,[2] therefore it is likely they were located in this former grain store building. Hugo Fischer Ltd was a leather goods manufacturing company, run interstate by Hugo Fischer, they had a warehouse at Gawler South which was managed by Hugo's brother Emil Fischer [see Fischer Family].

In 1998, the building was 'Bodywise Fitness Centre',[1] then for many years the southern end was 'Gawler Secondhand Traders' and the northern end was 'Gawler Power Tools'. The building is vacant in May 2026.
