There have been many different markets in Gawler and Districts over the years, including:

Lions Sunday Market

The Gawler Lions Club Sunday Markets at the Gawler Railway Station (Twentythird Street, Gawler South), were held for many years to raise funds for the community support work carried out by the club. It was announced on 26th June 2025, that the club had made the decision to close down the market, with the last market to be held on 27th July 2025.[1] The reasons given for the closure were the diminishing financial returns for the hours put in to running the market, the age of the volunteers setting up and packing up and competition from new markets. Gawler Farmer's Market

The Gawler Farmer's Market, which was held on Saturdays in the Gawler Visitor Information Centre Carpark (2 Lyndoch Road), started operating in January 2016. Initially it was run by the "Adelaide Showground Farmer's Market", but after a period of closure the lease was taken on by "Aussie Farmer's Market", with a grand opening held on 12th January 2019.[2] The final market was held on 18th December 2021, with plans to return on 8th January after the holiday break, however an announcement was made on 14th January 2022 that the market would not recommence as they were unable to resign a new contract due to the uncertainty Covid was causing.
