The Mill Inn operated from 1858 to 1920, it was located on the main thoroughfare just before the Gawler Bridge, which is why that bridge is commonly referred to as the Mill Inn Bridge. The site is now known as 4-6 Adelaide Road Gawler South and is at the corner of Adelaide Road and Seventh Street.
According to Bev Burke's research, the Mill Inn was once owned by the Fotheringham Brothers. See below for a list of licensees over the years.
On the 18th March 1920 there was a sale of furniture and liquor after the Licensing Court refused a license renewal.

Photographs of the Mill Inn, show a very different, older style building to the c1920s building that still exists at the site in 2025, suggesting that the site was rebuilt upon after the Inn closed in 1920. For details of the later building and various subsequent uses of the site - see Adelaide Road 4-6.
