Robert Haysom research "14th July 1868: Letter received by the Corporation from Dr. Schomburgk offering to supply trees and shrubs to beautify the parklands."

After complaining of chest pains on the previous afternoon, he died from a heart attack at the Botanic Garden. The attending Doctor "explained simply that the death was caused by stoppage of the heart's action."
