Twentieth Street was initially George Street, Bassett Town. It can be seen on the original 1857 Bassett Town Plan, the name George was in honour of William Basset's Australian born son George Vospar Bassett (see Bassett William & Family). This street has several buildings that are either State, Local or Contributory heritage listed, including a corner store that faces onto Adelaide Road (41 Adelaide Road). – <click here> to see photographs of all of the heritage buildings.
