Obituary

Mrs Arabella Rose Dawes. who died recently at her home, High Street, Gawler, was the widow of Dr. R. St. Mark Dawes, who at Clare was a partner of the late Dr Bain.

Dr Dawes afterwards purchased a practice in Gawler. By her natural kind-heartedness and undoubted ability, Mrs Dawes aided her husband in building up a flourishing practice. Mrs Dawes was a foundation member and benefactress of the Church of the Transfiguration, Gawler South, of which her sons' tutor, the Rev. A. K. Chignell was the priest in charge. Her sons are Dr Henry Dawes, who succeeded to his father's practice, and Mr Charles Dawes, who lives with his brother. A service was held at the Church of the Transfiguration, Gawler South, previous to the internment in the North Road Cemetery. 1
