'Freida' Elfrieda Agnes Noack was born in 1910, daughter of gardener Gottlieb Daniel Noack and his wife, nee Elizabeth Dorothea Hoopmann. Her siblings included Eric Daniel Noack. From 1923, the family resided in the large bungalow at 1 Adelaide Road, on the northern side of the road next to the Mill Inn Bridge. Frieda was an accomplished pianist, she secured second place for the under 14 piano solo at the Tanunda Music Festival in 1921,[1] aged just 11, by the 1930s she was working as a music teacher from the family home.[2]

Brian Thom recalled having piano lessons with Miss Noack from 1958 to 1960 but she gave up trying to teach him music theory. Accordingly tunes like Campanella and Fur Elise were memorized sufficiently to enable a reasonable performance to be given at the end of year concert.

Frieda was one of the pianists at the Song of Australia Centenary Celebrations in the Gawler Institute in 1959.

In 1960 she purchased the cottage at 9 Eleventh Street,[3] Gawler South and it was still under her ownership in 1982, but it is not known if she resided there.

Frieda never married, she passed away in 2000, aged 89, and is buried in the Willaston Cemetery with her parents and brother Eric.
