Nickname “spoggy”


Edward preferred to be called Mervyn. He was a member of the Gawler Freemasons and worked in Mallala and Hamley Bridge as a labourer, before settling in Gawler. He lived at 48 Fourteenth Street in 1941, before purchasing 11 Twelfth Street in the 1940s, and living there until his death from emphysema in 1985. Edward worked at the Gawler Railway Station as a porter for 31 years. Edwards Nickname was “spoggy”. Edward preferred to be called Mervyn. He was a member of the Gawler Freemasons.
